Fun with Excel

So while you were away, I had some fun programming some Excel worksheets. Courtesy of Global Financial Data, of course.

1. Yield Curve tool. This is monthly, and goes WAY back to the wee years of 1953. Beat that :p

2. EAFE-SPX (with a little Nikkei data thrown in) portfolio weigher and correlation analyzer based on modern portfolio theory. The EAFE-SPX weighing of 20 some percent is justified. Also, Nikkei and the US have a surprisingly low correlation of 0.16 .. find out why.

These charts look prettiest in Office 2007 Beta, which I guess no one has. They should be acceptable on 2003 even, though.
